Couples Therapy | Brisbane & Online

Helping couples improve communication, reduce conflict, strengthen connection, and find a way forward together.

Why Couples Work With Me

Many couples tell me they aren't looking for someone to take sides. They want someone who can help them understand what's happening, improve communication, and find a way forward.

My role isn't to decide who's right or wrong. It's to help both partners better understand themselves, understand each other, and develop the skills needed to build a stronger relationship.

Sessions are practical, balanced, and focused on creating meaningful change that continues outside the therapy room.

My Approach

My work with couples draws heavily on the Gottman Method, one of the most researched approaches to relationship therapy available today.

Sessions focus on improving communication, managing conflict more effectively, strengthening friendship and connection, and helping couples navigate differences without damaging the relationship.

The aim is practical change that continues outside the therapy room.

Two Ways We Can Work Together

The Right Level of Structure

Relationship Tune-Up

Some couples feel that their relationship simply needs a tune-up. They want to improve communication, strengthen connection, work through challenges more effectively, and keep moving forward together.

These sessions are generally less structured and focus on the goals and challenges most relevant to your relationship at the time.

Intensive Relationship Therapy

Other couples are experiencing recurring conflict, damaged trust, emotional disconnection, or long-standing relationship difficulties. A more structured approach is often beneficial.

This process begins with a comprehensive Gottman Method assessment designed to help us understand the strengths, challenges, and patterns within your relationship.

The Intensive Process

Assessment to Prevention

Phase 1

Assessment

A detailed understanding of your relationship through Gottman Connect, a relationship history interview, individual consultations, and feedback with goal setting.

Phase 2

Treatment

Weekly sessions are typically 90 minutes to 2 hours, focused on moving out of recurring conflict, repairing hurts, improving communication, and strengthening connection.

Phase 3

Integration

As new skills develop, sessions often move fortnightly so you can consolidate learning and make sure change is showing up at home.

Phase 4

Relapse Prevention

Appointments gradually space further apart, often around 3 to 6 months, to help maintain progress and prevent old patterns from re-emerging.

The Work Between You

The aim is not to decide who wins. It is to build a relationship that feels safer, more connected, and more resilient.
